Kicking Into Gear: The Asylum Estate Build Progress

Things may have been a little slow on the building front recently, but we’re expecting to shift into high gear this year as we work towards bringing the majority of the house together. Since our last update, we hit a major milestone just before Christmas—completing the full house frame. (Just in time to decorate too!) Now, behind the scenes, we’re busy preparing for the next stages.

The bricks have been moved into position, and Tim and the bricklaying crew are gearing up to take on one of the most exciting (and challenging) features of the build—the arched hallways. These arches aren’t just a visual statement; they require careful planning and precision to ensure the brick bond aligns seamlessly from every angle. On top of that, gravity isn’t exactly on our side as we work up and over to form the curved structure, making this stage a true test of skill and craftsmanship.
